Shipping Donations Needed -- One of our biggest operational costs here at Support The Troops - NWA remains our shipping costs for each care package drive. While we have been successful in streamlining our shipping operations, just the sheer amount of care packages alone make this a major cost. Right now, we are estimating that STT-NWA will spend on average of $7,000 per drive in 2007 in order to ship all the donated care packages over to our local soldiers serving in Iraq & Afghanistan.. STT-NWA T-Shirts and Yellow Ribbons -- We are currently out of T-shirts, but will have more available by the time Bikes , Blues, and BBQ rolls around in September. Stayed tuned for more information about these t-shirts.
We will be receiving our shipment of Yellow Magnetized Ribbons shortly. These are the popular yellow ribbons that you see on cars throughout the nation. We will be selling these ribbons for the low price of $2.00. All proceeds go towards either the Care Package Drives, or to support military families here on the homefront who are having a rough time while their loved one is serving his or her country. We are currently looking for volunteers who will be willing with special events planned throughout the rest of the year, including upcoming Care Package Drives. There are various areas that we can use assistance, so if interested, please contact the Support The Troops - NWA offices at (479) 524-7086.
One of the reasons that we need additional volunteers is due to the medical condition of our chairman, David Williams. David suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and several secondary medical conditions, something that is common in sufferers of CFS. For this drive to move forward, we need volunteers who are willing to step forward and provide the physical energy that is currently being deprived from David by his diseases.
