3rd Annual 'SPC Lyle Rymer Memorial Care Package Drive'
The Spring 2007 Care Package Drive has finally come to a close.  We will have more finalized numbers on this webpage in the coming weeks, but for now, we wanted to get just the numbers on this page so that people can see that we still have a big need for this Spring 2007 Drive.  Why do we need more help?  Well let me explain.

When STT-NWA was preparing for this drive, we took last year's numbers, and increased them by 10%, thinking that would be a pretty healthy increase.  Well, instead of increasing the amout of products we received by 10%, the communities of Northwest Arkansas decided to really
send a message of support for our troops, and they did so in a MIGHTY BIG way.  Our intake of care package items rose by 200.9%.  Yes, we collected 1,138 cases of care package supplies, with the total weight of the shipment reaching 10,201 pounds.  Yes, that is 5.1 TONS of care package
materials.

The following military units will be the ones receiving all of these care package supplies:

142nd Field Artillery, Bravo Battery, 2nd BN  --  Siloam Springs, AR
142nd Field Artillery, Headquarters BN  --  Fayetteville, AR
362nd PSYOPS Unit  --  Army Reserve Center, Fayetteville, AR
Cargo Transfer Platoon 2 - NCHB-1  --  Siloam Springs, AR

3-69th Artillery (Mortars)  --  Siloam Springs, AR

Now, with all of these care package donations, comes a pretty stiff shipping bill.  We had already anticipated a shipping bill of around $5,000.00, and we were able to raise $5,100.00.  So we thought we were doing really well.  Then we realized just how many pounds we were going to have to ship, and we knew that the shipping bill was going to be sky high.  Sure enough, our total shipping costs are $10,489.40.  That leaves us short some $5,300.00.

We
REALLY need your help!!!  Help spread the word of the need by talking to your friends about it, or encouraging them to visit our website for more information.  Contact the company that you work for, and ask them to send a corporate donation or contribution.  And lastly, give what you can financially AFFORD to give.  All donations, whether they be a couple of pennies, to a couple thousand dollars, have an immediate affect on these efforts.

Donating monetarily is really easy.  First, you can donate here online just by clicking on the PAYPAL link below.  You can also go to either METROPOLITAN NATIONAL Bank, or any ARVEST Bank, and
just tell the tellers that you wish to make a donation into the "Support The Troops - NWA Donation Account."  They will ensure that your money reaches where you intended it to go.

Thank you all for your continued support, and we will give a more updated, detailed entry on this webpage in a few days.
